My journey as a portraitist

My skill is in capturing likeness and the essence of the person I portray. A good portrait goes beyond an accurate likeness — it should hold something of the sitter’s character, their presence, the quality that makes them recognisably themselves.

I work in a range of media, including charcoal, watercolour, pastel, and oils, and with over 30 years of experience in portraiture, I offer options to suit every budget — from a lively drawing to a full painting. My preferred way of working is from life, though I have completed many successful commissions from photographs as well.

Portraits make very special anniversary, birthday, or wedding presents.
If you would like to commission a portrait, I would love to hear from you.
