On the 1st of May, Jane Hunt, Maria Danishvar Brown (sopranos) and Din Ghani (Lutenist) are presenting an early baroque programme of English, French, Spanish and Italian music of 1600s.
We have chosen masterpieces by Monteverdi, Lambert, Sances, Frescobaldi and Purcell to entice your feelings and introduce you to a lesser known world of amazing music!

On Saturday the 2d of May mezzo -soprano Arabella Heaton and I are presenting a gorgeous programme of some of the best duest for female voices from Purcell to Rossini. The programme was compiled by our wonderful accompanist Elaine Korman and features "Sound the Trumpet" by Purcell, "O Lovely Peace" by Handel, Barcarolle from the "Tales of Hoffmann", Duet by Lisa and Polina from the "Queen of Spades", the Flower Duet from "Lakme" and many more serene, positive and beautiful duets.Elaine will also be joined by pianist David Price to play some exciting piano duets!

The Holburne Museum in Bath presents Maria Danishvar Brown (soprano) in a Recital of British Art song, on Tuesday the 10th of March at 13.00-13.50. The theme of the recital is feelings and how they are expressed and echoed in the nature around them. Beautiful songs by Roger Quilter, Herbert Howells, Ivor Gurney, Benjamin Britten, Madeleine Dring, Michael Head, Thea Musgrave and Patricia Cory. tickets are 5 pounds and there is a beautiful new exhibition of 20th century art, too.
Please, join us in the Holy Trinity Church in Trowbridge on Saturday the 3d of May to hear some of the best music for voice and instruments, opera and chamber music, including excepts from Handel's Acis and Galatea, Franck's "Panis Angelicus", Rachmaninov's "Trio élégiaque No. 1" and many more wonderful pieces of chamber music, including a newly composed cello sonata by Mathew Penrose..Admission free! Donations will benefit the Wiltshire rural music school.
On Thursday 10th of October Kristina Takashina (mezzo-soprano) and soprano Maria Danishvar Brown will perform a recital of songs and duets. Together with the pianist Mieko Zuckerman they will share songs from different countries, by Mozart, Wolf, Schubert, Mendelsson, Brahms, Rimskiy-Korsakov, Rachmaninoff and by Japanese and Ukrainian composers!

This Feast of songs and duets from Elizabethan era to Prokofiev's dramatic piano transcription will commence at 7.30pm on Tuesday the 28th of May in St. Swithins Church! Tickets are 12 pounds (8 pound concessions), available from me or the Bath festivals box office.
Starring: Andrew Douglas-Forbes (RAM), tenor, winner of Opera Per Roma competition in 2000, Konstantin Lapshin (RCM), pianist, winner of at least 20 international competitions, Lloyd Notice (RSC actor, West End musical star), narrator.

This varied programme on the theme of flowers and spring is promising to be delightful and eclectic! The combination of Japanese art song, Rachmaninov, original blues duo, and music for flute and dombra! And an authentic Japanese ladies choir, too!
